Welcome to Canada. Study Safe.

You came here to learn, not to worry about hospital bills. Canadian healthcare is expensive for international students—don’t let an accident derail your education.

⚠️ Did You Know? In provinces like Ontario and Manitoba, international students are NOT covered by the government health plan (OHIP/Manitoba Health). You are 100% financially responsible for your medical care unless you have private insurance.
⚠️ The Cost of Being Uninsured

If you rely only on your school’s basic “on-campus” plan or arrive early without coverage, you are taking a massive financial risk.

The “Early Arrival” Trap

School insurance (like UHIP) often only starts on the first day of classes (Sept 1). If you arrive in August to find an apartment, you have zero coverage. One accident during this gap could cost you thousands.

One Bill > One Semester

A single night in a Canadian hospital can cost significantly more than the tuition for an entire semester. Surgery or intensive care can bankrupt a student without insurance.

Built for Student Life

🏥 Multi-Million Coverage High limits for hospitalization, surgery, and diagnostics to keep you safe from major bills.
🎓 Tuition Protection Some plans reimburse non-refundable tuition if a medical emergency forces you to drop out of school.
🦷 Dental Pain Relief Coverage for accidental blows to the face and emergency pain relief (wisdom teeth typically excluded).
💊 Prescription Drugs Coverage for essential medication prescribed by a physician for emergency conditions.

  • Home Country Exclusion: Coverage typically suspends while you are back in your home country and resumes when you return to Canada.

Refunds & Early Returns

Plans change. Maybe you graduate early or move back home.

  • Visa Denial: 100% Refund if your Study Permit is denied before arrival.
  • Early Return: Partial refund available for unused days if you leave Canada permanently (Proof required & No claims).
  • Provincial Coverage: If you become eligible for OHIP/MSP/AHCIP, we can refund the remaining days on your private plan.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this cover routine checkups or acne?
Generally, no. Student travel insurance is for unexpected emergencies (broken leg, flu, appendicitis). Routine physicals, acne treatment, or elective care are typically not covered.
I have a Work Permit (PGWP) after graduation. Can I buy this?
Yes! When you graduate, your university insurance (UHIP/etc.) ends. You need insurance to bridge the gap until your provincial coverage kicks in (usually a 3-month wait).
Are pre-existing conditions covered?
It depends on the policy. Most require the condition to be “Stable” for a specific period (typically 90+ days) prior to the effective date. If you have a chronic condition, please contact our advisor to find a plan that fits.
How much does it cost?
Prices vary by age and coverage amount. Student plans are generally cheaper than standard visitor plans. Contact our advisor for a tailored quote that fits your student budget.
